26th GPFF on dispaly

GPFF on display - The Gran Paradiso and its king

From 1 August to 10 September, the exhibition ‘The Gran Paradiso and its King’ will be open to visitors at the Maison Pellissier green area.

The Gran Paradiso and its King“.

The Gran Paradiso is told through its animal-symbol: the Alpine ibex.

A selection of shots taken by photographer Giorgio Marcoaldi leads us to discover the ibex and its characteristics, offering hints and suggestions for approaching the unique reality of the Gran Paradiso.

A coveted prey of hunters for centuries throughout the Alps, the ibex came very close to extinction. The species was saved thanks to the introduction first of a royal hunting reserve and only later of Italy’s first national park. The images of the ibex and its life in Europe’s highest mountains give the visitor a glimpse of the uniqueness of the places it passes through, witnessing a century of conservation and environmental protection.

The story of the ibex is the story of how man’s intelligence can not only destroy the land that hosts him but also save it and save himself.
